Arizona-Old friends and Letter Boxing

On Saturday we met our good friend Natalie and her man Tyler at Pita Jungle. Flower loved the humus!

After good food and great conversation we met up with Tara and Adam to search for a Letter box.

When we were finished we planned to go home so Flower could have a nap. Tara and Adam were in search for the guns to Adam's Halloween costume. I decided to join them so I jumped in Tara's car, literally as we were all stopped at a red light, and she took me to the mall. They had a Lane Bryant and I was hoping to return the two dreaded bras for the next size down, and of course they didn't carry that style! We did laundry that night so we wouldn't have to worry about it once we got home. I decided to wash one of the bras and then dry it, just like it says not to, in an attempt to get it to shrink. I worked a little but sent me on an online pursuit!
That night Flower and I had some great one on one time on the bed and I just loved it!
Later still we introduced Justin and Birgitta to the game Killer Bunnies. We had a great time and they loved the game! :)
Sadly we had to leave the next day and get back to reality. We didn't leave till around 2:00 pm because KG woke with a headache and Flower wasn't feeling well. That made for a a long night but we finally it home at 9:30 am one Monday morning, just in time for me to go to work. Yipee! Justin, Birgitta, Tara and Adam were wonderful hosts and we can hardly wait to go back!

Arizona-Down Time with Uncle Justin

This just makes me smile. :0) As we were getting ready for our Friday, this is where KG found Flower.

Friday was a fun filled day with Birgitta. Unfortunately I forgot the camera! She took KG, Flower, Adam and I to Tempe. It's a town similar to McCall, Idaho but unfortunately is losing most of its 'mom and pop' stores for national chains. Hmm, sounds like downtown Boise. It sucks. We ate lunch at an Irish pub with excellent food. We entertained three business men at the table next to us and KG taught Birgitta how to the make an orange Runt candy float above his mouth. :) She had to try and then I did it and they were quite amused as we continued to try other fruit shapes from the box of candy. :0) We still found three stores among the chains with great finds. The first was Hippie Gypsy where I found some great stickers for the bus and a cute t-shirt for Flower, which she actually picked out. Then we came upon a book store that I found the memoir Kitchen Privileges by Mary Higgins Clark with the old fashion uneven pages. I can hardly wait to read it. Then we went into an antique bookstore where I bought some original Raggedy Anne paper dolls for Flower and I to play with as well as an antique Golden Book children's book to add to my collection. As I was checking out they had the coolest Halloween tie hanging there so I surprised KG with it. From there we went to IKEA! There is always lots of fun to be had there and we didn't leave empty handed. We found a great drop leaf table so we can actually eat at a table together! We bought for our upstairs gaybors (KG's term for our gay neighbors/friends) the same amazing space saver kitchen piece we bought in Portland and three Christmas gifts for Flower. The bus was stocked and was going to make it interesting for the 14 or so hour trip back to Boise!

Arizona and the Zoo

On Thursday we went to the zoo and this time Tara was the only one missing.

Isn't that brown duck pretty? I had never seen what that color before. Can you find the snake's body and head among the pretty green leaves?

This was hilarious! The two penguins on the left were making whoopi just before that photo was taken. Then you seen the one just walk off. The penguin in the photo in the middle was across the cage. We look over at him and see his stance, as though he is so proud of what they've just accomplished! :) The back to the other two, the one that was walking changed it's mind and went back for a little cuddle time! :)

Of course the petting zoo is always a big hit! Although Flower was hesitant at first, she soon fed a couple of the animals.

Birgitta and Adam got right in there! It was also fun to watch the goats eat right out of the food dispenser!

We were soon off to see the birds and the monkeys!

On to the reptiles! :) There were some really beautiful ones and I especially enjoyed the frogs and toads! This cute little guy wanted to give me a five. ;)

Of course we had to have a photo of that sign! :-D Yes...we were that close to the ostrich!

The giraffe were another favorite! Their tongues were so slimy!

Apparently there was going to be some grand counsel because we looked over and saw all the animals in attention!

Ok back to the giraffe where Flower takes a turn feeding and then on to other animals.

Good times!
